Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project
About Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project
The Melbourne Metro Tunnel, which started in December 2017, is scheduled to be completed in 2025. The Metro Tunnel is the largest investment in Melbourne CBD rail capacity since the City Loop was built 30 years ago, with a total budget of $12.58 billion. The Metro Tunnel will create a new rail line from Sunbury to Cranbourne / Pakenham, with five new underground stations at Arden, Parkville, State Library (CBD North), Town Hall (CBD South) and Anzac (Domain).
The Challenge
For subway projects, because PVC conduits need to be buried directly underground for a long time, they require excellent waterproof and corrosion resistance to avoid the risk of high-voltage wires being exposed due to conduit damage.
Solution
By improving the formula and connection design, Ledes provides electrical conduits and accessories that exceed the AS/NZS 2053 standard, and conducts rigorous testing before shipment to ensure that the above problems will not occur after installation.
As the core supplier of the project, Ledes continued to provide high-quality electrical conduits and fittings for the project, including AS/NZS 2053 certified rigid PVC conduit, corrugated flexible conduit and fittings, ensuring the project was completed on time and delivered successfully.
